Client Service Agreement

  1. I understand and agree that I am fully responsible for my welfare, including my mental, physical, and emotional well-being during and after the session, and including my choices and decisions. I am aware that I can stop the session at any time.

  2. I understand that I am engaging in a professional relationship that aims to facilitate the creation and development of personal and/or professional goals. Somatic practice and process includes the space for self-discovery, acceptance, and change.

  3. I understand that we will be employing specific methodologies that include working with and through the client’s body. This can include somatic “bodywork”, which includes hands-on touch where the client is fully clothed. Virtual clients can self-administer some somatic bodywork. Bodywork is participatory between coach and client and only proceeds with the client’s full consent. I understand that bodywork is not massage and that the practitioner is not a licensed massage therapist.

  4. I understand that this is a process that can encompass many areas of my life, including: work, finances, health, relationships, education, and recreation. I recognize that potential problems may arise while implementing my decisions. These decisions and what results from them are my sole responsibility.

  5. I understand that this work does not imply a diagnosis or treatment for mental health purposes. It is not a substitute for counseling, psychotherapy, mental health care, or substance abuse treatment. This work is often therapeutic and healing in ways that support mental health and well-being, but the practitioner is not a licensed mental health practitioner at this time and does not provide mental health services.

  6. If I am receiving therapy under the supervision of a qualified mental health professional, I will inform that person that I am working with a somatic practitioner. I will only continue somatic practice and services if this provider supports it.

  7. I understand services are not covered by insurance. Payment is required prior to any session work, unless our written agreement says otherwise. Payment is accepted through most major credit cards, Square, Zelle and Venmo.

  8. I understand that any information revealed during my sessions will be kept confidential unless I have indicated otherwise. Any laws that govern the release of information (elder abuse, child abuse, etc.) to authorities will be respected by the practitioner. The full up-to-date Privacy and Confidentiality policy is accessible on the website at andrewnewton.co

  9. I understand that if I provide at least 24 hours notice in cancelling an appointment, I will be able to reschedule that appointment at no additional cost. If less than 24 hours notice is provided, I will not be able to reschedule that appointment without incurring the cost of another appointment or losing the credit. In cases of emergency, I can request an exception and it is at the practitioner’s discretion to decide.

  10. If the client is under the age of 18, I, as the minor’s parent or guardian, give my permission for my child to receive somatic services.

  11. The practitioner adheres to the ICF’s (International Coaching Federation) Code of Ethics unless there is a significant concern for the client or the well-being of others. If I am receiving somatic services that are paid for by a person or entity (such as a corporation or non-profit organization I work for), I understand that my coach will adhere to the ICF’s Code of Ethics regarding confidentiality and the specific Privacy and Confidentiality policy posted on the andrewnewton.co website, considering the client who is directly receiving services as “the client”, rather than the person or entity paying for the service. Any exceptions negotiated will be put in writing and signed by the coach, client, and sponsoring entity or person.

  12. I understand that somatic sessions are booked for 75 minutes, but may run anywhere from 60 minutes to 90 minutes. At the beginning of the session, the client and practitioner will discuss time constraints and make session agreements around time that may be spent. No additional charges will be incurred by the client if the session runs over 75 minutes.

  13. No-show sessions will not be refunded or credited.
